Policies

We have a large number of policies for the nursery, covering topics like Health and Safety, the management of children's behaviour and child protection. All policies are desgined to enhance the qualify of care which children receive. Under the Children Act, we are obliged to put the well being of children first and if we feel that children are at serious risk of abuse at home we have to contact the local social services child care team. Within the staff team, we have a member of staff responsible for child protection, and a special educational needs co-ordinator (SENCO). All policies are available to parents and a copy can be given on request. Amongst the policies, there is a complaints procedure for parents, outlining who to complain to if you are unhappy with the standard of care.

Staff and Training

All staff in the nurseries are trained or working towards becoming so. Most staff also hold a First Aid Certificate. We are members of the Pre-school Learning Alliance and attend regular training events that are organized by them as well as through the Wiltshire Early Years Team. We are also committed to an ongoing system of staff appraisals that highlight the training needs of individual staff.
